Summary and Suggestions

1. Purposes of Practicum (Meets or Not Meets Your Needs)

The practicum aimed to enhance teaching skills, gain practical experience, and apply theoretical knowledge in real classroom settings. It met my needs by providing hands-on experience with diverse student groups, allowing me to refine my teaching strategies and gain confidence in my abilities.

2. Procedures of Practicum

The practicum involved several stages: orientation, lesson planning, classroom observation, teaching practice, and feedback sessions. I collaborated with mentor teachers, participated in workshops, and engaged in peer reviews to develop effective teaching methodologies.

3. Outcomes of Practicum

I successfully implemented lesson plans, improved classroom management skills, and received positive feedback from both mentors and students. My understanding of student engagement strategies increased, and I built valuable connections with educators and peers.

4. Challenges of Practicum

Some challenges included adapting to different classroom environments, managing time effectively during lessons, and addressing diverse learning needs. Navigating cultural differences in student interactions also posed difficulties at times.

For future cohorts, it would be beneficial to include more structured mentorship opportunities and additional workshops focused on classroom management and cultural sensitivity. Enhanced resources for lesson planning and teaching materials would also support effective practice.

"Traveling a day is learning a wisdom"  by Confucius. For me, every journey you go through, whether short or long, leaves us with invaluable, precious, and cherished lessons. From a student coming from a poor rural area who never thought I would actually attend university, to now being a final-year student majoring in English pedagogy at Dong Thap University, it has truly been a long and meaningful journey for me.  From the early days of supporting the SEA-Teacher Batch 8, my curiosity and eagerness to learn were reignited, motivating me to participate.
